Children's literature is not for the weak. It is a ruthless cutthroat business with lots of gnashes of the teeth. Children's librarianship, in contrast, is a sweet sweet ride. Now you can hear me as I growl, gargle, and kvetch my way through news, reviews, and interviews. Kidlit podcasting = scary new world.

New Seuss book starring Adrien Brody. I kid you not.
No, honestly! Illustrator Scott Nash says he based his pictures for the new Seuss release Hooper Humperdink...? Not Him! on Adrien Brody. I see great things in the future if this trend continues. We could recast the entire genre, for pete's sake! Let's start with Gene Wilder as The Little Prince for starters. Fill in your own as necessary.

ReplyDeleteAlmost as funny as the notion of Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet...naw, sorry. That would be too far-fetched.--rams
ReplyDeleteHi, mom.
ReplyDeletePippi has a better chance of happening since there were original illustrations to begin with. Since they're re-doing "Where the Wild Things Are" as a film how about we make Robin Williams Max? Or is that too weird?
