What Will Your Obit Say?

<span class=

'What will your obituary say?' at QuizGalaxy.com

Should have figured as much. Google Betsy Bird sometime and check out the second link that comes up.

Thanks to Shaken and Stirred for the link.

You know the book 'Of Muppets and Men' spends some time on the evolution of your feathered and foam counterpart, right?

In it, Jim Henson said of her, "There were some design problems." "The costume tended to disguise [dancer Betsy Baytos'] movements rather than exaggerate them. If I had that figure to build again, I would not have the head built up high above the shoulders the way it was. If the head had been lower--at a normal head height-- it would have emphasized the length of the legs and made the movement much more effective. But the main problem was that we didn't find a handle for the character. That's always the real problem."

As Betsy Bird 2.0, I think you can rest, self-assured in being the next best shot at improved muppet greatness. And as such, it's nice to have Jim Henson infer your head is in the proper place.

This THIS is why I love the Internet. Because at 2:57 a.m. someone can come on my blog and give me thoughtful quotes and information hitherto entirely unknown to me. My God, man. You actually had the book on hand, didn't you? I love that.

Thanks for telling me all this. Betsy Bird the Muppet has always gotten the top spots on Google and I've always resented her for it. Now I have a little context to chew on as well.

Can you imagine how the Julius Strangeporks of the world must feel?

I did have the book on hand, but in my defense... well, I have no defense. I know my muppets.

And I know who Julius Strangepork is. So there we both go.
