I'm sorry, but I just can't get into them. They're entertaining enough and there's enough action and silly humor so that I can see why kids like them, but they got old very quickly to me. I liked Mr. Handler's psuedo-Victorian style (it's a real departure from most kidlit and really treats the kids as intelligent readers) but they just didn't interest me any more after I read a couple. Besides, he has this irritating habit of repeating this one idea over and over and over--he would use a big word and then say, "which, in this case means..." and give some goofy definition. It was amusing the first 500 times but...<BR/>BTW, thanks for standing up for A Wrinkle In Time. It's a great book! And we get get kids in here all time time looking for it on their booklists, so other people think so too. We're not alone, sister!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
