Children's literature is not for the weak. It is a ruthless cutthroat business with lots of gnashes of the teeth. Children's librarianship, in contrast, is a sweet sweet ride. Now you can hear me as I growl, gargle, and kvetch my way through news, reviews, and interviews. Kidlit podcasting = scary new world.

Joanne's Coming Back!
A big thank you to Critical Mass for this fascinating information. As you may or may not know, J.K. Rowling hasn't been in the United States since 2000. All that is going to change very soon. Rowling is returning for two benefit performances for Doctors Without Borders on August 1st and 2nd. And she will be reading with (wait for it) John Irving and Stephen King. They're calling the whole thing, "An Evening With Harry, Carrie, and Garp". You just couldn't make this stuff up. Tickets will be available starting May 12th. Worth considering, anyway.
