Promoting One of My Own

When you work with a co-worker such as Warren Truitt, you're used to high-end children's music, be it the history of Punk for kids or an alt-country bit of originality, to come wafting out of the cd player once in a while. Not too long ago, however, I felt myself physically compelled to walk into the Story Hour Room to find out what the heck that fabulous music was that was playing. Librarian Joel Caithamer doubles as musician, and his rockabilly album ACTIVATE is maybe the most enjoyable children's album I've ever heard. I'd praise it with a review, but Warren does it so much better on his site.

Hey - (sorry, this has nothing to do with this post) Did you notice that you got a bit of a shout out on Linda Sue Park's blog?

I had seen the mention about our having dinner together (she called me the "organizer" which was nice of her, but not entirely correct). What I did not see was her more recent mention of how my boss and I directed her to Pabby Arnold so that she could donate her books. Neat! She's such a fabulous woman. I highly recommend that all of you have dinner with her sometime to discover what I mean.
