Eric Carle Meets Mummenschantz

Remember last month when I got all apoplectic about the Rainbow Fish theatrical production? Well it seems that the gods of theatrical children's book adaptations have heard my prayers at last. Leo Lionni and Eric Carle have finally gotten their due. The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia has created some amazing productions, the most beautiful of which pay tribute to Leo Lionni and Eric Carle.

And this video of the Carle production gives you just a taste of what they do. I love how they allowed the caterpillar to take a bite out of each fruit.

My husband just asked me if I keep getting into flame wars with some anonymous poster named Prez43 over how good The Very Hungry Caterpillar is. Took me a second, but I figured out what he meant.

Took me a second to figure out how that applied. I am indeed slow.

Aw, shucks -- The Mermaid Theatre came through my town (Pittsburgh) with this production last May, and I chose to go see the circus instead. Ah, well . . . my son was pleased anyway.

Hey, thanks for linking to my blog so much lately -- I'm just basking in the attention. See?
