I'm Surprised I Haven't Seen These On the BB-Blog Yet
Okay, break time is over. Y'all can find the SCBWI post if you need to, but I'm going back to reporting on fluffy kid stuff.
Let's see. At first I thought you might want to look at these cool Penguin and Pelican Covers from the 70s (via Bookslut) but then I decided they weren't really concerned with kidlit stuff.
Far better? These book bags made to look like books. Dibs on The Secret Garden.

They're actually made out of books. Cool, huh?
I've been meaning to give it a try for ages. (I obviously need a Nancy Drew one.)
Very cool idea.
Some of my favorite titles.
Incredibly expensive.
But I dislike purses anyhow.
I'll take The Human Factors in Engineering and Design purse. It looks a little like a Penguin book. Nice links!
LW, that's why I want to try and make one myself! No WAY could I pay that much money for a tiny little purse like that.
I know I've found more extensive instructions somewhere online. Can't find them at the moment.
Leila, Little Willow, here are more detailed instructions to make this book purse on your own, from DIY Network and ArtystoCrafts. Have fun!
Oh, maaaan. Those are seriously cool.
