Children's literature is not for the weak. It is a ruthless cutthroat business with lots of gnashes of the teeth. Children's librarianship, in contrast, is a sweet sweet ride. I found these gems a couple years ago at a used book store in Hagerstown, Maryland. I’d never seen these book covers in any of Edward Gorey’s collected books of illustration and thought it was a cool find.
