Class of 2K8!

Let us say that your very first novel for kids/young adults has been purchased by a publisher. Yay for you! Now, if you had sold it a little faster you could have jumped on the Class of 2K7 boat and gotten all kinds of publicity alongside your fellow first-time authors. As it stands, however, you did not and now you wish there was a group out there to join that was just as cool as 2K7. Well welcome to the Class of 2K8, baby! As it happens, book publication dates can get pushed back. It happens to the best of us. As such, some of the 2K7ers found that they'd be released in early '08 rather than late '07. Thus far they consist of:
Marissa Doyle, author of Bewitching Season (Henry Holt/Holtzbrinck Group, Spring 2008).
Jody Feldman, author of The Gollywhopper Games (Greenwillow/HarperCollins, Spring 2008).
Zu Vincent, author of The Lucky Place (Front Street/Boyds Mills Press, Spring 2008).
This may well mean, then, that this form of marketing shall eventually morph into a yearly group with ever-changing members. So if you happen to have a book of your own that's coming out in a year's time or more, join on up.

Yes, indeed, I think we will try this again. I was very involved in the Class of 2k7, and found great energy with the group. The whole publication process can be quite daunting, so it's good to be in the company of others who may be freaking out. Thanks for keeping up with us ... and I invite potential 2k8 members to keep their eyes open around March 1 when we hope to post a call for the new group.
