Children's literature is not for the weak. It is a ruthless cutthroat business with lots of gnashes of the teeth. Children's librarianship, in contrast, is a sweet sweet ride. Sorry guys. That award is going to Mitali Perkin's newest book Rickshaw Girl. Couldn't have gone to a nicer woman either. Well deserved, all around. Thanks to Mitali's Fire Escape for the link.
So glad you linked this -- my favorite parenting blog and my favorite children's literature blog are now linked.
ReplyDeleteAnd the story made me want to go right out and get Rickshaw Girl. We can start it as soon as we finish Nightbirds in Nantucket.
