My Little Sis Is All Growns Up

I normally don't post much in the way of personal information on this blog. Probably because my life is dull as all get out. HOWEVER, I do have to crow over one little piece of news as of late. Everyone has dreams of having a sibling in a children's television show, but so few people actually get to live that dream. Now I can. My little sister has managed to get onto a show by the name of Come On Over that is hoping to get picked up for wider syndication. To give you a sense of the randomness of children's television programming, she's in it with a performer from the Christian rock band Jars of Clay as well as the woman who constructed ALF and played his left arm. To say nothing of the involvement of Dana Snider (who plays Master Shake on the TV show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force). We should all have such connections.

Okay. So you people who live in Grand Rapids, Michigan ... all one of you ... watch this tv show whenever you can.

Yeah. It was always tough in our family growing up. Me with the pretty green fur, and all.

And Joel Tanis is pretty hot stuff over here in West Michigan -- at least in the local art world. His work is everywhere -- in children's rooms of libraries and bookstores, art galleries, kid's wings of churches.... He's a great speaker too, just saw him in the fall.

Yeah, I know. Sorry, Jac. She was keeping my mouth good and shut until the paper made the official announcement. But wow! Who knew there was such a Grand Rapids connection here? Aaron, did I know you were from Western Michigan? I'm a Kalamazooian by birth!
