I Go Pogo Catchiness

And speaking of music, here's a really wonderful treat. I could be wrong about this, but I'm under the distinct impression that the voice you hear when you listen to this remarkable version of "I Go Pogo" is Walt Kelly himself. Contemporary cartoonists should think of following his lead. Oh, Art Spiegelman...

Many many thanks to wonderful Dan for the link.

This was fantastic. I've never heard this sond before, though I'm a big admirer of Pogo specifically and Kelly in general. You really think that was his voice?
I'd like to strongly discourage Spiegelman from following suit, though. I can't even imagine what that would sound like.

Long ago, when I was but a lass, I babysitted for a woman who owned a record of Pogo songs. All the songs were sung by Walt Kelly himself and I would bet good money that this was one of them. At the time, the upbeat measure kind of shocked me. Now I wish they'd release some kind of cd of the original.
