Recommended Site o' the Day

Pooja Makhijani, a charming woman with whom I shared a child_lit dinner the other day, has an article on Papertigers.org entitled Here to Stay: South Asian Literature for Children and Teens. With the slow increase of South Asian kid lit in the marketplace, Pooja's piece (which, for the record, is superb) has never been more timely. Go read! Go!

Thanks for the shout-out, fusenumber8. I am thrilled that you enjoyed the piece; I am a huge fan of your blog.

I look forward to seeing you again and talking books.

Hey, no prob. When I see the interesting schtoofs, I link to them right-quick. Your posting, however, is probably as intelligent a piece of work as I'm ever going to find.

Thank you much. And... I have to ask, what's a schtoof?

It seems to be my way of saying "stuff". Just as "vundibar" is my way of saying "wonderful". And I only just learned the other day that there's no such word as "chooch". As in "to chooch out". Imagine my shock. I'm using words and phrases that don't even exist!

Lewis Carroll used words that don't even exist and look where he ended up.

Chortling,
P.
