Getcher Free Books Here!

I work in a library branch that claims (on its website anyway) to have "over 100,000 volumes" available for viewing by the public. This is a neat thing. Less neat is the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of libraries out there that hardly contain even a smidgen of that number. Enter in the We the People Bookshelf.

Basically it works like this: Would you like your dinky library to receive free books? Free "classic" books, no less? Well just apply for this grant between the dates of September 19th and January 31st and free books can certainly be yours. The "classic" books are following the theme of the "Pursuit of Happiness", which I can certainly get behind. They've also a nice multicultural selection of old and new titles. Worth a look-see, should you be in need. Plus, they're giving these books to 2,000 school and public libraries. Your chances, needless to say, are good.

Thanks to Kids Lit for the link.
