Roger's Been Comicified

Comic-ficated?
Comicification?

Whatever the term, I recognized him before they revealed who he was supposed to be. Tales From the Slush Pile (you'll find it at the bottom of the page) is touch-and-go but I like seeing people I've met in it. Wonder how Roger feels about being represented as the kind of guy who says things like, "Allow me to replace them", though.

I read Tales from the Slush Pile every week, mostly because I keep hoping it'll be funny. It never really hits me, though.

Yeah. I know. Once in a rare while you'll find one that hits home but they're too few and far between.

Watch. Now they'll do an anti-kidlit blogger one.

Hey! It's not easy to do a comic strip every week - on the whole, I'd have to say that it cuts through the bullshit pretty well - god knows there's a lot of that out there....

There there. I know it's hard. Lord knows I couldn't do it. Perhaps this is one of those situations where if you're working in the field it's funnier than if you're not. And then there is the comic-a-day quality of Unshelved to compare to.

"Tales from the Slush Pile" seems to be about drinking as often as it's about creating children's books, as in the latest entry.

This "slush" seems to be a Margarita, and the aftertaste often strikes me as a little sour.
