If You Loved Me You'd Buy Me This

67 sweet sweet discs of Harry. The Stephen Fry version, no less. I'd just love to see how it compares to the Jim Dale. This collection obviously does not contain all the books, but I think it's still worth giving a glance to. That is, if you've a spare 260 pounds burning a hole in your pocket.

Oh, Fuse, are you getting paid to do this?

Uh... no, dude. It's the British version. Why would J.K. Rowling need any help from me? You might make a case for it if I wanted the American CDs, but this isn't even Bloomsbury.

PAID?????

What kind of a blog do you think this is???? *growl grumble, grumble growl*

I'm off to soak my sorely bruised pride now.

Jim Dale doesn't compare. Period. Up here in the dominion of Canada, we used to get the UK editions of the CDs, but sadly not no more since some batty decision to unify the North American market. Gah.

I used to listen to the Jim Dale versions, and they'd make me crazy. He has this way of hitting the word 'and' that makes no sense: "Ron, AND Hermione, rode off on unicorns" as if the important part of the sentence is that Hermione is there too. Finally my boyfriend got me the Stephen Fry tapes, and they're perfect perfect perfect.

Leave it to you to have a blog that mentions Jim Dale. Not once, but many times. I *love* that.
