The Rare Mix of Leaf and Seuss
The Bookseller blog recently featured this neat little item:
During World War II, the War Department produced a pamphlet for soldiers to inform them about malaria and the mosquitoes that carried it. They commissioned two very well known children’s authors to create it.Imagine the heights they could have scaled had they tackled social diseases as well!
Munro Leaf provided the verse and Dr. Seuss did the illustrations. Here is a recent auction:
DR SEUSS Munro Leaf This is Ann US Army Malaria 1943
$139.01
In other Seussian news there appears to be a stuffed and mounted Seussalope for sale. Many thanks to Children's Illustration for the link.
