Sliding a Single Finger Onto the Pulse of eBay
I've a rather strong attachment to Elaine's eBay Bookseller Blog. She specializes in valuable children's books and keeps close track of those titles that sell especially well each month. The May figures have now come out and here's the rundown as Elaine prints it:
May's top ten children's book sold on eBay auctions:
$8,988.88 --- 1899 BANNERMAN LITTLE BLACK SAMBO FIRST ED
$4,504.00 --- Arabian Nights Milo Winter Color Ill. 1st Ed. 1914 Fine

$1,557.00 --- RARE Cat in the Hat by Seuss TRUE 1st Edition in DJ !!
The average price of the top ten children's books sold on eBay in May: $3,193.24.
This month eight of the ten titles were published before 1930, one is a picture book and one is a chapter book published after 1930.
She also provides an especially interesting link to a Q & A surrounding the selling of the mint first edition Eragon book. And who knew Cat In the Hat could command almost as much money as The Tale of Peter Rabbit? Stunning.
