From Her Lips To Your Screen
I'm in awe of the power J.K. Rowling has. All she has to do is merely mention one of her favorite books from her childhood and BANG! Instant movie. Now somebody go and convince her to talk up my favorite book of this year.

Thank you, Ms. Rowling (and Ms. Fuse). I am a fan of Elizabeth Goudge. In particular, I enjoy her books that are appealing to children (Linnets and Valerians, Henrietta's House/Blue Hills, Smoky House, etc.) I grew up with them because my mom had most of Goudge's books. Once she said, "I'm going to be ruthless. I'm going to weed out all of my second and third copies of Elizabeth Goudge." I had to laugh. Ruthless, indeed.
I didn't see "Nanny McPhee," but I sure was grateful that Emma Thompson made the movie so that there was impetus to bring Nurse Matilda back into print. Now, if we could just get the same thing to happen with Massie's Zigger Beans and Weston Woods...
