This May Be Solely of Interest To Me...

... but I figured I'd let y'all know about it as well. Observe:
Housing Works Bookstore and The National Book Critics Circle bring you a panel on blogging and book reviewing, with a discussion about what happens when the two intersect. The panelists will be Maud Newton, Lizzie Skurnick (Old Hag), Laurie Muchnick (Newsday), and Frank Wilson (The Philadelphia Inquirer). A question-and-answer session will follow the discussion.
Sounds good to me. Basically it's a panel discussion determining the following questions: What will the book reviews of the future look like? How have blogs affected that design? How can the print and online worlds work together to broaden the scope of titles talked about in the media, and what's worth reading today?

It is, of course, happening here in NYC at the Housing Works Bookstore on September 27th at 7 p.m. I may stop by in spite of the lack of children's book review representatives. It would be silly, after all, to assume that this kind of thing affects only adult reviewers.
