Sometimes I hate this city.

I do not think you can blame New York City for this. Perhaps the parents, perhaps the teens, but not the city.

I don't know if our area (SF Bay Area) has these high-priced tutors, but I know that there are lots of parents who wished there were. I tutor creative writing, and I charge $20/hour for a small group, and these parents are waiting in line to shell out this money. And then they all want advice on how to get their 10-year old into an Ivy League school.

Oh, don't think that didn't occur to me. Let's see. How much do you think parents would shell out for me to teach their children basic library skills?
